The Center for 21st Century Skills promotes the advancement of 21st century skills, and is currently operating multiple digital media courses and educational projects in Connecticut high schools. The Center creates and implements “blended learning” environments that combine traditional face-to-face classroom learning with online instruction. The Center is an organizational unit of EDUCATION CONNECTION, a CT regional educational service center.
Students establish digital media and film production companies that produce content that is submitted and distributed through this site. The culminating experience for all course participants in digital media and other courses and programs run by the Center is the public exhibition of student work at the Connecticut Student Innovation Exposition held each spring at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, CT. The Connecticut Student Film Festival is a featured aspect of this annual event, where digital media students present their film productions. The Expo is attended by Connecticut business leaders, film and digital media professionals, policy makers, and urban and suburban students, teachers, and families.
